Merry Christmas!

xmas2016
So I did end up reaching my goal of making 40 Christmas cards! A bit stressful, but overall it was fun šŸ™‚ Our annual Christmas craft fair was over. It was starting to get cold that day, so traffic at the craft fair was quite slow. Sales were okay. As usual, mom’s sock animals did very well!Ā We are looking forward to the next year!

I thought I’d share a few cards that I was particularly happy with.xmas2016_sleddingkidsI really like how this one turned out. I used some glitter adhesive on the torn edge of the white cardstock. This makes it look like real snow against the navy blue sky. Together with all the classic Christmas colors, the card offers such cheerful winter scenery.

xmas2016_naughtyniceI thought I was quite creative with this one. Hehe! The presents were created using 1″x 1″ squares. With the help of some silver glimmer paper as well as red ribbon, the presents literally came to life! The “naughty or nice” sentiment was the result of a combination of different stamp sets, one of which was the Labeler Alphabet (the OR word and the question marks). ThisĀ set was a great investment. I haven’t had it for that long, but already made some extensive use of it on a couple of occasions.

xmas2016_merrybrightLast but not least, this card was inspired by one of the cards I saw on the Stampin’ Up website.Ā I can’t find the picture of the original card anymore, but it was mainly the negative star space and the twine that caught my eyes. I thought hmm I got the star die cut and some gold twine, so why not? With the gold and vanilla striped background, the gold twine and the gold button, wouldn’t you say this card isĀ Merry & Bright?

Thank you for stopping by! We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Mistletoe Christmas Card

mistletoexmas

Hi Everyone, alright I have once again abandoned my blog for the longest time šŸ˜¦ A lot has been going on in life this past year. I have never stopped paper crafting, but it was just difficult to find spare time to blog. But here I am again, and whatā€™s a better way to get back into blogging than to play in a sketch challenge.

fms-final-260-001

Inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches #260 is this new Christmas card. Itā€™s crunch time before our Christmas craft fair in December (located at the Wesbrook Community Centre on December 3 by the way!), so I think from now till December 3 I will be making all Christmas cards. My goal is to make 40 cards till then! Letā€™s see how I do, haha.

Hello snowman! (FMS153)

SnowmanXmas

Today’s card was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketch 153 challenge.FMS153I am happy how my card turned out, but am certainly glad that I don’t have to say Hello to a snowman in reality yet. The weather is still nice and beautiful in Vancouver šŸ™‚

I find myself creating with the negative space a lot these days, especially when the framelits are so handy! I think it is a great way to showcase either a designer series paper or an embossed panel. In this case,Ā what is more fun than making a Christmas card with theĀ red and green colours plus aĀ super cute snowman image?!

Serene Silhouette Christmas

SereneXmas1

Every year I tell myself I have to start making Christmas cards in July, but the truth is I never actually started that early šŸ˜¦ Now I really have to catch up as our Christmas craft fairs are coming up in less than 3 months! Super excited as both locations are brand new to us, meaning we will have brand new customers. Customers always give us feedback as well as what they want to see in the future, so it really helps us improve our products for the coming year. In case you don’t know what we sell in the craft fairs, my mom makes these adorable stuffed animals and Christmas ornaments using (brand new &Ā clean!) socks, and of courseĀ I am responsible for the handmade cards and some shadow frame decorations.

I really like the images in theĀ Serene Silhouettes stamp set used in this card, and am glad that it could be used for the Christmas occasion. I think the Peace on Earth sentiment that came from the Greetings of the Season stamp set was perfect for the image. The birds that were heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler really made them stand out from the card.

The most lovely gift for babies – a handmade Sock Monkey and a coordinating Stampin’ Up! card

Hi everyone, I promised to share one more project before I leave on my trip when I will have very limited access to the internet šŸ˜¦ But anyway, here we go! Part of the gift that I am going to give to my friend who just had a baby girl in the summer is this Sock Monkey and the coordinating Sock MonkeyĀ card.

The Sock Monkey Stampin’ Up!Ā stamp set I used to create this card is retired already, but I have to keep using it because I love making cards that coordinate with our handmade sock animals. If you are interested in giving such adorable sock animals + coordinating handmadeĀ cards to people for their new babies, birthdays, weddings, even Christmas, and many more occasions that you can think of, please feel free to contact me. I am more than happy to work with you on what you need.Ā I will continue posting more about our sock animals, andĀ just a little safety note about our animals, we canĀ reinforce any sewn-on parts, for example the eyes, to ensure that they are child-proof.

Below is another Sock Monkey card I made for Christmas. Don’t you love that masculine monkey? šŸ™‚
