Itty Bitty Baby Girl Card (PPA236)

This is my second post today. A New Year comes with New Year’s resolutions. I do have a few: 1) Get more exercise (bought an exercise bike, and now I just need to make sure I get on it EVERYDAY), 2) Open a store on Etsy to sell handmade cards (this one requires some planning, but I will get to it in about two months) and 3) Blog more often (started just now, hopefully this will continue :)).

We are going to visit a friend’s new baby girl tomorrow, so of course I need a card. The layout was inspired by the PPA236 challenge.

PPA236I just joined Stampin’ Up as a demonstrator again, and today I received my starter kit. I couldn’t wait, so I opened all my new toys right away. What is a better time to join than during Sale-a-bration? I got to choose two freebies for purchasing the starter kit. One of the free products I picked was the Best Year Ever designer series paper. I used a small piece as a background behind the three curly petite labels. The images from the Itty Bitty Baby stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue are simply adorable! And don’t you love those little flags underneath that panel? It was cropped from the Balloon Framelits Dies which can be purchased as a bundle with the Celebrate Today stamp set. The “Celebrate!” sentiment was one of the images.

Sweetest Baby

It’s been over a month since I last updated, but I’d like to think that I have a good excuse. My hubby and I were in Paris for a week. We had a wonderful time, lots of sightseeing and delicious food, although I caught a cold half way through our trip under the 30+ degree weather. My cold didn’t affect my mood in enjoying Paris at all, and I was better as soon as we got back. Thanks to the beautiful weather in Vancouver 🙂

No one had a new baby recently, just felt like making a baby card after playing with my friend’s little guy on Sunday 🙂 And plus I really want to open this new stamp set I bought recently from the new catalogue called Sweetest Gift. It’s got adorable images. Hope you enjoy!

The most lovely gift for babies – a handmade Sock Monkey and a coordinating Stampin’ Up! card

Hi everyone, I promised to share one more project before I leave on my trip when I will have very limited access to the internet 😦 But anyway, here we go! Part of the gift that I am going to give to my friend who just had a baby girl in the summer is this Sock Monkey and the coordinating Sock Monkey card.

The Sock Monkey Stampin’ Up! stamp set I used to create this card is retired already, but I have to keep using it because I love making cards that coordinate with our handmade sock animals. If you are interested in giving such adorable sock animals + coordinating handmade cards to people for their new babies, birthdays, weddings, even Christmas, and many more occasions that you can think of, please feel free to contact me. I am more than happy to work with you on what you need. I will continue posting more about our sock animals, and just a little safety note about our animals, we can reinforce any sewn-on parts, for example the eyes, to ensure that they are child-proof.

Below is another Sock Monkey card I made for Christmas. Don’t you love that masculine monkey? 🙂

Hello Baby!

A coworker is going to have a baby soon, and I was responsible to make a card for her. I pulled out a lot of old stuff to create this card (just realized I don’t have many stamp sets I could use to make cards for kids/babies, time for more shopping!). I swear I have seen that little monkey hanging off a tree branch being done by someone somewhere, but unfortunately I don’t know where so I can’t tag the original source…

A few things used in this card can still be found in the current catalog:

  • The tree branch is a cutout from the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die. I have “engineered” the cutout to make it longer (by cutting a little branch of two leaves and putting it at the end).

  • The “Hello” and “baby” word images came from the Tiny Tags set. The “Hello” image was colored using the Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Write Markers. They were then punched out using the Medium Jewelry Tag.
  • I added texture to the Whisper White background by dry embossing the cardstock with the Square Lattic Embossing Folder.
