Congrats with wedding towels

I have seen many versions of this towel card. It looks really fun to make, and I have meant to try it for ages. Finally I had the time to play, and here is my take! What do you think? 🙂

I used one of the new in-colors Pistachio Pudding as the card base, and am liking the freshness it brings to the card. I made the white background look like the tile wall in the bathroom by scoring straight lines using my scoring board.

Wedding Anniversary Gift

Yay, the second frame is done! This one was made as a wedding anniversary gift to myself and my hubby. I really like how this one turns out, and am seriously thinking I can start making these frames to sell in our christmas craft fairs this year, which by the way, my mom and I will be selling our sock animals and handmade cards at Dunbar Community and South Arm Community in November! No more table at Steveston Community because it happens to fall on the same day as Dunbar.

I used the Secret Garden and the Banner Greetings stamp sets. The Banner Greetings is a hostess set. What this means is that if you spend $200 or more on Stampin’ Up! products with me, you can get at least $35 hostess dollars for free, and you can use $10 hostess dollars to get Banner Greetings . I tried to create a more three-dimensional effect within the shadow frame by curling the petals and the banner a bit.

I’m not sure if you can tell in this picture that the banner has been heat embossed. I tried using gold ink before, but it just didn’t do it for me. What a big difference embossing with gold powder!

A For You card made for any occasion

Silhouette1Spring is here (ya, kind of…), so I made a card using a spring-y image. The FOR YOU sentiment is definitely the most versatile of all. You really can use it for almost any occasion, be it a birthday, thank you, congrats, mother’s day, etc. This card was also submitted as an entry to the PPA 157 Sketch Challenge.

  • I almost never completed a card without using an embossing folder. Again, here I used one of my favorites – the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.
  • The Oval Framelit was so handy. You just have to stamp, run it through the Big Shot, and you are all ready to adhere the perfectly cropped image piece to the card.
  • I needed some smaller butterflies, so I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits to cut two of those. They came out embossed and cut, super easy!
  • A little embellishment often goes a long way, just like the mini Basic Pearl Jewel I added to the centre of the butterfly.

Wishing you a lifetime of love & laughter!

I just had a busy long weekend as I was the Maid of Honor in a good friend’s wedding. It was such a beautiful wedding. Everything went so smoothly, and we were so lucky that the weather held up for 99% of the day (though I wasn’t so lucky on my own one-year wedding anniversary which was two days after when it poured for the whole day and we had to postpone all the planned activities including the anniversary dinner because the restaurant just happened to be closed for renos! Lol.. anyway, we still had a relaxing anniversary without celebration :))

A card is a must to congratulate my friend and her hubby on their big day, so here you go.

  • The images in the Love & Laughter stamp set are gorgeous, especially after being heat embossed. The wedding dress here was first stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder to create a glamorous look, and finally cropped out using Paper Snips.
  • The little flower bunch image was stamped next to the wedding dress to give a feeling that the bridal bouquet was laid next to the bride.

  • The wedding was in a pinkish color theme, so I have chosen to use Pink Pirouette. I dry embossed the Pink Pirouette card stock using the Square Lattice embossing folder to add some texture.
  • The Whisper White Organza Ribbon totally gives a wedding feel to the card
