Pretty Petites cards set

PrettyPetites1
I feel honoured that my Secret Garden Birthday card was selected as one of the picks in the PPA 153 Challenge, so I created the Thank You card on the left. While I was creating the card, I realized the layout was a lot of fun to work with because there are many different ways you could mat the Petite Curly Label punch out. The birthday card on the right is another version. I still have two other versions that I wanted to post, so stay tuned, and in the meantime remember there are only 12 days left where you could earn the Pretty Petites stamp set and the Petite Curly Label Punch for free for every CDN$60 you spend on any Stampin’ Up! products!

I always like these white on white cards that other people create, but I have to admit I had a hard time coming up with a design that is both CAS (clean and simple) and not boring. I discovered that it is actually much easier to use some texture. The Honeycomb Embossing Folder here definitely gives character to this card.

I like how this birthday card turns out as well because it looks both classy and elegant without too much femininity, and it’s nothing complicated at all, just some Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper and Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon.

Oh, Hello Sunshine in Vancouver!

Pinwheel1Do you really need a reason to make cards? Definitely not! I know I can just make a card to say hello to some sunshine we are finally getting in Vancouver! Or maybe just because I wanted to play with my stamping toys 🙂

  • I used the stamping off technique to do the chevron background of the sentiment. It is in Baja Breeze, but in a lighter shade by first stamping it once lightly onto a piece of scrap paper.
  • The Cloudy Day Embossing Folder was used to create texture on the Whisper White cardstock, which makes it look absolutely adorable.
  • The pinwheel, which was very easily cut using the Pinwheel Sizzlits Die and assembled using a silver brad, goes with the cloudy sky very well.
  • The Whisper White bow adds a final touch to the card while hiding some glue dots I put behind the toothpick at the same time 🙂

Pinwheel2Stamp Set: Oh, Hello (Wood-Mount 130730, Clear-Mount 130733)
